Yale COVID-19 Statistics
CURRENT YALE COVID-19 ALERT LEVEL
Orange: Moderate Risk
On Nov. 6, Yale moved its alert status from yellow to orange. Click here for specific guidance.
These counts have been revised to count only unique positive cases (listed by the date of that individual’s first positive test) and to count unique individuals tested per day (excluding any duplicate test records). Tests and positive cases are shown by date on which a test was collected. There is a 2-3 day delay between when tests occur and when data become available to include in the tables above. These counts may change further as they are updated.

The summary data in the “Yale Data at a Glance” section reflect asymptomatic testing, and include symptomatic test results for students only, due to privacy guidelines. As a result that summary does not include symptomatic test results among faculty or staff, nor does it capture results for other community members who are members of Yale Health (including dependents and retirees). The data below reflect all testing completed by Yale Health across all populations, both symptomatic and asymptomatic. This gives the most complete picture available of the entire Yale community. These data are updated on a weekly basis, so will lag the results in the “Yale Data at a Glance” section.
Positive Cases at Yale, Counts
Rolling seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases among the Yale Health population.
Positive Cases at Yale, %
Rolling seven-day average positivity rate, or the proportion of positive tests out of all COVID-19 tests for a certain group. Note that the student and some employee populations participate in frequent asymptomatic testing. This impacts the positivity rate for those populations.
